‘ಸಂರಕ್ಷಾ’ – ತಲಸ್ಸೆಮಿಯಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಆರೈಕೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುವಾಗಲೇ ಇರುವ ಆನುವಂಶಿಕ ನ್ಯೂನತೆಯಾದ ತಲಸ್ಸೆಮಿಯಾ ಬಾಧಿತ ಮಗುವಿನ ದೇಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಮೊಗ್ಲೋಬಿನ್ ಯುಕ್ತ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ರಕ್ತದ ಉತ್ಪತ್ತಿಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಂತಹ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದಿಂದಿರಲು ನಿರಂತರ ರಕ್ತಪೂರಣ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ. ಈ ನ್ಯೂನತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ನೆರವಾಗುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ 2013ರಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಸಂರಕ್ಷಾ’ – ತಲಸ್ಸೆಮಿಯಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಆರೈಕೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಪಾಸಣೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟ ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ರಕ್ತತಪಾಸಣೆ, ರಕ್ತಪೂರಣ ಮಾಡುವುದಲ್ಲದೇ ಫೋಲಿಕ್ ಆಸಿಡ್, ಕ್ಯಾಲ್ಸಿಯಂ,

ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ರಕ್ತಕೇಂದ್ರ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಳಕಳಿಯುಳ್ಳ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಾಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು, ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧೆಡೆ ಸ್ವಯಂಪ್ರೇರಿತ ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಶಿಬಿರಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತ ವಾಹನ, ಸಲಕರಣೆಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಶಿಬಿರ ನಡೆಸಲು ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ತಕೇಂದ್ರ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಏಕಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ 5 ಕಡೆ ಶಿಬಿರ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ರಕ್ತಕೇಂದ್ರವು 24*7 ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ರಕ್ತ ನೀಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆಧುನಿಕ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳನ್ನು {SDP (Single Donor Platelets), CLIA, Automated
